Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Hatem Saleh held Thursday evening a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo on ways of boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took up the final preparations for President Mohamed Morsy's visit to China, slated for the end of August, Saleh said. He said that the visit will seek to promote economic cooperation and increase investments between the two sides. Saleh underlined the necessity to stimulate commercial exchange between the two countries.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador affirmed the importance of Egypt as a major country in the Middle East, pointing out to Egypt's economic and social capabilities that make it the most competitive country in the region in terms of attracting investments.
