When it comes to who is the best Ronaldo in football, many nowadays say Cristiano has surpassed his Brazilian namesake.

The man himself, however, has struck back by omitting the Portuguese star and four-time Ballon D'Or winner from his all-time fantasy team.

Ronaldo, who like CR7 played up front for Real Madrid, does however mange to find room in his team for Lionel Messi - albeit on the right of midfield.

Instead, the 2002 World Cup winner picks a 4-4-2 with himself as a centre forward alongside fellow Brazilian football legend Pele.

Ronaldo, who won the Ballon D'Or twice, picks a side which spans the generations and features Italian steel at the back and South American flair in attack.

Current Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is picked to start in nets, with 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro and AC Milan hero Paolo Maldini at centre back.

Ronaldo chooses two international team mates, former captain Cafu and free kick specialist Roberto Carlos in the full back roles.

While Cristiano Ronaldo is out, his Real Madrid manager is in, with Zinedine Zidane chosen in central midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo.

Brazil-Argentina rivalry is put aside for the wide midfield roles, with Diego Maradona and Messi picked on the wings, supplying a deadly strike duo of Ronaldo and Pele.
