Uganda Finishes Olympics in Burst of Glory

Uganda's Stephen Kiprotich celebrates winning the Olympic men's marathon in London.
Uganda's Stephen Kiprotich set the seal on East Africa's dominance of long-distance running at this year's Olympics - and won glory for his country - when he took the gold medal in the men's marathon in London on Sunday.
Kiprotich won the race in 2 hours 8 minutes 1 second, becoming only the second Ugandan ever to win Olympics gold.
Fellow East Africans Abel Kirui and Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich of Kenya won silver and bronze, in times of 2:08:27 and 2:09:37 respectively.
The three were among the early leaders in the race, but about three kilometres from the finish in central London, Stephen Kiprotich kicked into high gear and took a clear lead, picking up a Ugandan flag and crossing the finish line with national colours flying.
