- Okotie's comment comes on the his of Prophet Joshua's proposition to leave Nigeria due to prosecution

- Okotie says the prophet is controlled by an evil spirit and must be ignored

- Timi Frank and Fani Kayode has however, asked TB Joshua to remain in Nigeria

- The two political stalwarts say the prophet's presence is needed most at this time in the nation's history

Reverend Chris Okotie, founder of the House of God International Ministry, has lashed out at Prophet T.B Joshua over his plan to relocate to Israel.

Prophet T.B Joshua of the Synagogue Church of Nations had on Wednesday, May 3, made known his plan to move away from Nigeria, his home country, due to persecution.

Speaking on Facebook, Okotie, who has long been an outspoken critic of Joshua, described the cleric as an attention-seeking “impostor”.

He added: “He is controlled by a malevolent misanthropic spirit,” the pastor of Household of God International Ministries wrote on his official Facebook Profile under a news article he reposted detailing Joshua’s alleged relocation.”

“His hypocritical jeremiad should be ignored. He is just another frustrated shaman seeking public sympathy,” Okotie said.

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has opined that the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCAON), Prophet TB Joshua must not be allowed to relocate from Nigeria.

Speaking at his church service on Sunday, Joshua disclosed that he had just returned from the ‘Holy Land’ after holding meetings with three prominent Israeli mayors of Jerusalem, Tiberias and the Jordan Valley.

Joshua said Israel offered him both land and facilities in an area around the biblical site of the Sea of Galilee for the Nigerian Pastor to organise meetings for international pilgrims.

Reacting to the report, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain said the prophet should not be allowed to relocate from Nigeria because he is needed now more than ever in the country.

In a series of tweets on his social media handle, Fani-Kayode wrote: “We will not allow T.B. Joshua to leave Nigeria and relocate to Israel. He is one of God’s end-time generals. We need him now more than ever.

“It is almost over. The beast is dying. The flesh is rotting. The vultures are gathering. Yet even in death he revels in wickedness. FEAR GOD!”

Fani Kayode says TB Joshua cannot leave Nigeria at this time

In a similar vein, A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Timi Frank, has begged the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua against relocating his church to Israel.

The APC stalwart in a statement on Wednesday noted that Joshua’s prayers were needed more now, considering the challenges facing the country.

Reacting, however, Frank said: “I am making this appeal bearing in mind millions of people who daily benefit from welfare programmes of this man of God, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.’’

He maintained that Joshua’s presence in Nigeria went beyond religion, adding that it had positive economic impact on the lives of Nigerians and the country.

The former APC scribe said that statistics from the Nigerian Immigration Service revealed that six out of every 10 travellers to Nigeria visited the country because of T.B Joshua’s ministry, The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

“Prophet Joshua should know that God did not make mistake to create him a Nigerian and an African with a big assignment.

“I believe that his God will vindicate him of whatever persecution that might come his way,’’ he said.

Meanwhile the scandal involving Apostle Suleman, the founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, is still ongoing. Some Christians have come out to defend the cleric who was accused of adultery.
