Nicola Adams hit the scales on the 115 lbs super flyweight limit for her US debut on the Canelo vs Golovkin undercard.

Hungary's Alexandra Vlajk, who lies in wait for Adams on Saturday night, weighed half a pound lighter for their four-round contest.

A relative veteran in the paid ranks, the 37-year-old Vlajk has stepped into the ring 18 times as a professional with four of those fights being title shots.

Adams, of course, is no rookie, she can draw on a stellar career as an amateur career, but is yet to be tested in her two fights as a professional.

That does not seem to concern Britain's double Olympic gold medalist and former world amateur champion, who said at the weigh-in: 'I'm so excited to be boxing in Las Vegas on such a huge night.'

Of her third professional fight, Adams added: 'A win here should take me step closer to my dream of a world title,'

Despite her love for the sport Adams has never previously visited the city where so many all-time great former champions - not least her particular hero Muhammad Ali - created some of the best moments of their careers.

'I used to stay up and watch or listen to the big fights but even when I started boxing I never really thought I would get the chance to one day head all the way to Vegas and fight on such a big card.

'It's a long way from those tough days of injuries and other setbacks, and when I started women's boxing wasn't even in the Olympic Games so it was hard to see how it could happen then.'
