Breaking: Anybody found with Biafra flag will be arrested – Abia police commissioner

- The Nigeria police has said that anyone found with the Biafra flag will be arrested

- The Abia state commissioner of police made the announcement while parading some suspected IPOB members

- Anthony Ogbizi said anyone also found adorning the emblem of Biafra will be arrested and charged to court

The new commissioner of police in Abia state Anthony Ogbizi has warned that anybody found with the Biafra flag will be arrested.

Ogbizi said anyone seen with the Biafra emblem will be arrested and charged to court.

Speaking while parading seven suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, the newly deployed state commissioner of police said the proscription of the group by the governors of the south east automatically make its illegal.

He said it has become illegal for anyone to operate under the IPOB which was declared a terrorist organization by the Nigerian military or adorn its emblems.

The police commissioner further added that one of the injured officers, an assistant superintendent of police has died from injuries sustained during the crisis between suspected IPOB members and security operatives in Ariaria police state, Aba.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that two suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra were arrested by the Delta state police command.

The two suspects were accused of shooting and killing four persons in a market in Asaba.

The police also said that the suspected IPOB members will be charged to court soon.
