A group of women accused of being witches were tied to a tree and cruelly beaten alongside their husbands by Indian villagers.
Hundreds of spectators gathered to watch five women being thrashed with branches for allegedly practicing witchcraft and the beating was filmed.
The victims were unable to defend themselves from the onslaught because they were bound in broad day light in Madhupur village in the Badasahi block of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.

The barbaric mob also turned on the women's husbands too, beating them for being associated with the supposed witchcraft.
Video footage of the attack shows five women tied with their backs to the trunk of the tree as the baying mob circle them.
The women appear calm, and are dressed in traditional attire, while a man in a shirt, shorts and a pair of socks sits down on the floor clutching his knees.
Suddenly, a handful of women appear with branches and start lashing the suspected witches.
Police officers did not get a wind of the incident until they were shown footage of the incident.
The victims complained to the local force who have now launched an investigation following several incidents of mob justice in the district for the last couple of years.
Three people were beaten mercilessly over the suspicion of kidnap in Gangraj village last month and a mentally ill woman was beaten to death for allegedly trying to steal a child in Domuhani village, Bangiriposhi.
