Umar, Lawal Can’t Help Osmanlispor End Winless Run; Azubuike Benched

by 25/02/2018 08:27:00 0 comments 1 Views
By James Agberebi: Nigerian duo Aminu Umar and Raheem Lawal were in action for Osmanlispor whose winless run continued after they were held to a 0-0 home draw by Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

Umar played for 90 minutes while Lawal was introduced in the 71st minute.

Osmanlispor had the chance to take the lead on 55 minutes but Sokol Cikallleshi missed from the penalty spot.

The draw means Osmanlispor have not won any of their last six league games (three defeats, three draws).

Osmanlispor remain in the relegation zone in 17th position on 20 points in the 18-team league table.

In another Turkish top flight game, Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medal winner Azubuike Okechukwu was benched as his club Malatyaspor returned to winning ways with a 3-1 home win against Karabukspor.

Before the game against Karabukspor, Malatyaspor had gone three straight league games without a win (one defeat, two draws).

They are now ninth on 31 points on the log.
