- Muyiwa said that if late MKO Abiola can get justice, his family has reasons to be hopeful under President Muhammadu Buhari

Muyiwa Ige, the son of the late Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Chief Bola Ige, who was killed in 2001 in Ibadan, on Wednesday, June 13, voiced his hope that confidence that his late father will get justice, The Nation reports.

Muyiwa said if the late MKO Abiola could get justice under of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, there is hope for the family. The late AGF's son said that his father's good works will forever be registered on the minds of Nigeria despite all odds.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier directed the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris to revisit investigations into the unresolved murder cases, including the death of ex-deputy national chairman, south-south of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aminasoari Dikibo.

Under supervision of The Democratic Movement (TDM), some pressure group have called on the IGP hasten up on the investigation.

Muyiwa said: “My father’s legacy lives on. What has been trending in the last few days is the fact that the President is saying they should reopen the case and hopefully, in reopening the case, we will get justice.

“Once we have justice just like the Abiola family and Nigeria has gotten justice with all the actors of June 12, we have gotten justice. By the grace of God, we will get Justice on the Bola Ige matter as well.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the family of late Chief MKO Abiola has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for granting a posthumous Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) award to their father.

The president announced the award on Wednesday, June 6, while also declaring June 12 as Democracy Day. In a series of tweets, members of the Abiola family expressed their pleasure, saying better late than never.
