Fearing for her life, the woman walks over to the window and climbs out as the suspect climbs out behind her.
The Kent Police Department said the incident occurred around 4.45am at Hottie Shots Espresso.
Authorities said the suspect ordered a drink right before the attempted attack.
The barista later identified herself as Madeline Guinto, and told KVAL that she fought the suspect off after he attacked her.
Guinto said after he crawled in through the window he put a knife to her throat and demanded she turn off the lights.
She refused, and he forced her to climb out the window and then led her down a dark alley. There, he said, he tried to rape her.
But the whole time Guinto said she was fighting as hard as she could to get away from him.
'I'm doing everything I can to stall him,' she told KVAL.
'I'm dragging my feet. I'm giving him dead body weight so it's not easy for him to just walk me over into my death. And I was like "Oh my god, why isn't anyone pulling up?"'
She said that once he had her cornered he started choking her and she tried desparately to grab onto his knife, which he yanked out of her reach.
But suddenly, she said, he got scared and stepped back, giving her the opportunity to run back to her coffee stand and call police.

'He's obviously a coward who preys on young women and females who are working in situations just like this, and he's a coward because there's nobody else around to protect them but themselves.'
Less than a day after police released the footage of the attack, they arrested the Michael Reynolds, who has an extensive criminal history.
Kent police arrested Reynolds on Wednesday at a furniture warehouse, where he worked.
Guinto said she was relieved to hear he had been arrested so he 'won't ever get anyone again.'
'I'm kind of just glad it's over,' she said, expressing that she plans to take a self defense class in the future. She said that this is the second incident at the specific coffee stand after she was robbed there in October, and isn't sure that she will go back to work there.
He was released from prison in September last year after serving a decade for robbery and burglary, according to KIRO-7.

'If somebody ever wants something in here, we assume it's the money. This was much more terrifying.'
