Kumasi, March 14, GNA – A 12-unit classroom block built for the Tanoso Anglican Basic School ‘C’ to create more space for effective teaching and learning, has been inaugurated.

The project was implemented by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) under a public/private partnership arrangement.

Mr. Osei Assibey-Antwi, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), who performed the inauguration, said additional structures and facilities would be provided for the school.

These would include an information and communication technology (ICT) centre, library, staff common room, a school park, and fence wall.

He indicated that the assembly had made education development one of its top priorities because it was the way forward to lift people out of poverty and other human indignities.

“We cannot build a prosperous society without an enlightened citizenry and that is why all should have increased access to education”, he added.

Mr. Assibey-Antwi encouraged everybody to find space to support efforts at creating the right environment for smooth academic work in schools.

This, he said, was the way to go to enable the nation to achieve the sustainable development goal (SDG) of inclusive and quality education for all.

The Most Reverend Professor Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Province of West Africa, in a speech read for him, reminded teachers to live above reproach in the performance of their duties.

They should not only focus on academic excellence but good character training.
