Agona, (Ash), April 17, GNA – The Reverend Dr. Osei Bediako Akoto, Minister in charge of Ridge Presbyterian Church in Accra, has been elected as the new chairman for Sekyere Presbytery in the Ashanti region.
He was elected at the 15th Session of the Presbytery held at Agona in the Sekyere South District.
Rev. Dr. Akoto replaces Reverend Ernest Odame Asare, who has ended his tenure of office.
He will take up the position in September, this year, and shall exercise pastoral, spiritual and administrative oversight of the Presbytery for the next five years.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service, Rev. Asare, the outgoing Presbytery chairman, thanked the Session for the successful elections.
He also thanked members of the church for their immense contribution to the development and growth of the church in the Presbytery.
Rev. Akoto , the newly elected chairman thanked members of the Session for the confidence repose in him and said he would work together with all to build the Presbytery.
